Every product, every business, and in fact, every "thing" starts as a thought; an idea. My business, Miboso Studio, which I created in March 2007 started as just that; a thought, an idea. Miboso Studio was founded on my belief and passion for helping myself and others obtain a healthier and happier balance of mind, body, and soul wellness - something I call, "free-spirited self-discipline." I believe that we can obtain a healthy balance without depriving ourselves or making it too complex - keep it real, keep it simple; keep it real simple! My home studio is all about physical and mental well being. I customize wellness plans to each client's needs and goals which include personal training for physical well being (cardio, strength training, balance work, and core strengthening) as well as help them improve their mental well being through positive thinking and breaking negative thought patterns to create an overall improvement in all areas of life. Mind over matter and mind into muscle are two of the key components to living a healthier and happier life with the results you create from the inside out. It's been rewarding and challenging all at the same time, with the rewards outweighing the challenges, for sure. Even with the deepest belief and passion behind you, it's just as important to have resources to help guide the behind-the-scenes business of a business. That's where the Economic Development Services of Metropolitan Development Council (MDC) comes into play. I had the people part taken care of but I had no experience, no knowledge of all that was needed and even if I did, I had no idea where to go to get these needs met. Taxes, business planning, budgets, cash flow, stats, common pitfalls for businesses are all items that need to be addressed for a successful venture and I've had nothing but a great experience with the MDC support system provided at a truly great price…. FREE! Although there services are free of charge; they're knowledge and support is extremely valuable. I attended MDC's six day Beginning Business Series last year and left with a better sense of how to run my business and make it a success, as well as an awesome binder that has saved me time and money over the last year. It has forms, templates, resourceful websites, phone numbers and contact names for the many departments to assist you in your new endeavor along with an invitation to call anytime with questions or concerns. I've utilized that offer and have not been disappointed. I feel that I could call on them 5-10 years from now and receive the same attention I did in the beginning stages. It's a comforting feeling to know you and your business have a backer in your corner to help you through the various obstacles that may occur which leaves us more energy and time to focus on what's truly important - the people part!
